Dean's Welcome

Welcome to the homepage of the College of Graduate Studies and Research at Towson University. Towson University was founded in 1866 and has offered graduate studies since 1958. Currently, the University offers over sixty doctoral, master's and post-baccalaureate certificate programs to nearly four thousand graduate students. The great variety of programs includes those of traditional disciplines, others meeting current workforce needs, and some that can be individualized to match specific student interests and learning goals.

The mission of the Graduate College at Towson University is to provide programs of study that will allow individuals to advance their knowledge, increase their practical skills, and develop leadership abilities in a broad spectrum of professions; to enhance their discipline through faculty and students collaborating on research projects; to be actively engaged in the process of improving the quality of life for others and themselves; and to develop the desire in each individual to become a continuous life-long learner. Our faculty and staff are strongly committed to accomplishing this mission.
