Welcome to
the homepage of the College of Graduate Studies and
Research at Towson University. Towson University was
founded in 1866 and has offered graduate studies since
1958. Currently, the University offers over sixty doctoral,
master's and post-baccalaureate certificate programs
to nearly four thousand graduate students. The great
variety of programs includes those of traditional disciplines,
others meeting current workforce needs, and some that
can be individualized to match specific student interests
and learning goals.
The mission of the Graduate College at Towson University
is to provide programs of study that will allow individuals
to advance their knowledge, increase their practical
skills, and develop leadership abilities in a broad
spectrum of professions; to enhance their discipline
through faculty and students collaborating on research
projects; to be actively engaged in the process of improving
the quality of life for others and themselves; and to
develop the desire in each individual to become a continuous
life-long learner. Our faculty and staff are strongly
committed to accomplishing this mission.
