Communications Management Master's Program (M.S.)
Admission Requirements
- A bachelor's degree with at least 24 units of related
course work in one or a combination of the following fields: mass
communication, public relations and advertising; at least one
advanced writing course; one statistics course; or equivalent
professional experiences that are documented by the student and
approved by the program director.
- A minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 2.75 for conditional
admission or a GPA of
3.00 or higher for full admission. All GPA calculations for admission
are based upon the last 60 units of undergraduate and post-baccalaureate
study.
The following materials should be sent directly to the Graduate
School Office, Towson University, 8000 York Road, Towson, MD 21252:
- Completed application
- Transcripts
- Fees
- One letter of recommendation. Use the Recommendation Form in
the Graduate School Application Packet.
- A resume.
- A statement in 1,000 words or less (typed, double-spaced), based
on your resume, that 1) explains your professional and academic
experiences with researching, planning, implementing and evaluating
communication programs and campaigns; and 2) describes at least
four learning objectives - what you want to learn in this
program and why.
- A cover letter expressing intent and/or interest, indicating
when you wish to enroll and for which fall cohort you are applying.
The application deadline is January 15th.
NOTE: All prerequisite courses must be completed
before the student can enroll in any cohort classes. A letter grade
of B or above is required.
