Mathematics Education (M.S.)

With a Master of Science (M.S.) in mathematics education from Towson, certified middle and high school teachers meet and surpass the standards set by the No Child Left Behind Act, gaining advanced knowledge in mathematics content and pedagogy. Graduates of the program frequently find leadership positions in mathematics education as master teachers, curriculum developers, mathematics supervisors and more.

As a master's degree student, you will choose one of two tracks. Select the link to read more about each program:

  • Middle School Track - designed for current and future middle school mathematics teachers who are elementary school certified.
  • Secondary School Track - designed for certified secondary mathematics teachers with strong mathematics backgrounds. Graduates are prepared to become master teachers, curriculum developers, mathematics supervisors, and other positions of leadership.
